Too bad my light porch has glass surrounding it. Wont be good during at night. It's going to have a glare.

I bought one cheap a year ago, great video quality but the android app isn't great and they want you to get a cloud storage deal to keep longer videos. I use it in basement to monitor my sump pump, detection and notifications work well and I can monitor anytime while on vacation. The bulb is too big for most outside lamp fixtures.

Model is LV-PWL2, and looks like it supports RTSP, per this site: https://www.ispyconnect.com/camera/laview
FFMPEG , rtsp:// , /live/channel0
could work well for a garage or somewhere you dont need an extra light (say if you have fluorescents on the ceiling), especially if you have your own Frigate or HomeAssistant setup already.

Yup. I'm returning mine. Picture is good but trying to make it do anything is near impossible. Connecting my phone to it is hit or miss, maybe 1 in 10 times. Panning through the app is near impossible. And it loses wifi connection often. Yea, I know it's less than $15, which is why I gave it a shot, but I returned it and just bought a Blink doorbell cam.

I gave these a shot last time they came up (same price)... been super happy with it. Motion detection and tracking work great. I put a 64GB card in it and it records all motion events for playback. It alerts me on my phone immediately when there's an event. The app is feature rich imo. I can control the device from the app, pan tilt zoom, nice clear picture. What more can you ask of a camera that's less than 15 bucks! I bought 2 more... why not

I returned mine. It is not a good product. You have to re-set up everything when it lose power. You want a reliable security camera.

Yea, the app is feature rich. Getting it to work is the problem! 😅

I think a couple of weeks ago the 2 pack was like $22. These are not bad but the drawback is to be able to fine a socket to install these.

This right here. Having to re-setup everything from losing power? That's ridiculous and a deal breaker for me. Reps to you for letting us know. Thanks.

How did you get it to record videos? I've been trying to. It just captures blurry picture of my neighbor.

I own two of these and both work great. First one is in my porch for surveillance only (No light needed since I have an attached garage and those sconces are always on) and the second is used as an indoor doggy cam in an old lamp.

Picture quality is great, 256GB SD card records 24/7 audio and video for about 3 months. Not sure about all these comments saying you have to set everything up all over again after power loss, never had that issue with either of mine. Multiple power losses due to people turning off the switch not knowing what it's for, never once had an issue getting my camera back online.

I did have to return one after it absolutely refused to connect to my Wi-Fi. The replacement worked flawlessly.

Couple questions, if this camera states that it takes an SD Card up to 128 GB, if you install a card that is 256 GB or even 1 TB will the camera fail? Will the card still hold recordings up to 1 TB?

The company, LaView, states in its support review that it only takes a card up to 128 GB, so I question.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I haven't encountered this issue. It's been working fine in Frigate (including ONVIF) and Home Assistant. Sometimes it will drop the connection, but that's true of any WiFi camera. It's been accidentally turned off a few times and I haven't had to set it up again.
