"11000 watt"

11,000 starting, 8,500 running watts on gasoline
9,500 starting, 8,000 running watts on propane
8,400 starting, 6,800 running watts on natural gas
I got quoted close to $20k for a full Generac automatic backup system, which I thought was insane. I ended up getting a 50amp transfer switch and lockout for $600, ran a gas extension for $400, and bought the Westinghouse 9500TFc and was all in for under $2k, which was great. Two problems with that setup: the Westinghouse in incredibly loud and the THD was concerning. I figured for a backup it was fine, but when this unit went on sale on Black Friday for ~&1,800 I pulled the trigger and absolutely love it. MUCH quieter. No worries about THD issues. Very happy with the purchase. I run it entirely on that natural gas extension, so maintenance is simply changing the oil periodically.

I can't speak to the long-term reliability, but the unit seems very well built and so far has fired up perfectly every time I've turned it on. Also seems relatively easy to get into and work on if anything does come up.
This is a great price:
1. Closed frame inverter meaning better fuel efficiency, quieter, and safe for sensitive electronics
2. High power for an inverter generator
3. Tri fuel capability
4. Sams club return policy whereas most stores (HD, Lowes) don't even take returns on opened generators

Although might not be the right generator for everyone:
1. As @chuck4rooke mentioned, the sustained power outlet under your chosen fuel will be much less than 11,000 watts. If you need more power, you can get non-inverter units with more power for the same price or you can buy 2 of these to run in parallel.
2. If your intention is to run on gas or propane, you're paying a huge premium over the $900 GMiaed at sams club for only somewhat more power.

Not sure about "Over-hyped". The main advantage is the "clean" power provided by the inverter. Steady power that will not damage some of the modern electronics out there. Traditional (non-inverter) generators are considered to have "dirty" power and could damage electronics. There is plenty of info on this on the internet. If you are going to use a traditional generator, an addition of something like the EG4 Chargeverter is a great product to use. Basically cleans up the power supply for you.
How do I add the chargeverter to my conventional generator? Is it 240 in/240 out?
I see some articles about using this to charge batteries with a generator. I dont have batteries or solar. thanks

Just search EG4 Chargeverter on Youtube. You will find plenty of videos explaining the functionality and setup for different use cases.

... maybe too much info but, GENMAX is manufactured by Chongqing DK Power Machinery Co., LTD. in Chongqing, China ...

https://www.cqdinking.com/

... also, if folks look at GENMAX User Manuals (available on their web site) ... it indicates Chongqing Dinking Power Machinery Company as well ...

... GENMAX contact info via their company web page ... indicates a toll-free phone number and a gmail e-mail address ...

https://www.genmaxpower.com/page/contact-us

Specifications of the product look great and at a great price point ... only a 1 year warranty though?

... support appears to be based out of China (which is in a vastly different time zone than the U.S., Canada, or Mexico) ...

I'm a former nuclear powered submarine electrician and currently manage the skilled groups for one of the world's largest and most prestigious automotive manufacturers. Inverters are nice but I'm not really concerned about conventional rotors/stators. Just cheap routine maintenance. Inverters are susceptible to their own issues with power electronics.
Inverters are certainly power electronics in that how an inverter works is via huge capacitors and flow balancers. This is why a Japanese inverter tends to be by far preferable to a Chinese made one for long term use. I've no idea about this deal, but point well made - a non inverter is a simple stator setup that spins at 3600 rpm continuously - the variation in drive leads to variation in quality of power.

Anyone know how many BTUs of NG this takes? I'm trying to figure out if I need a bigger gas line and I don't see that info anywhere...

The generator at 100% load would use 115.5 Cubic Ft/H (115,500 BTU/Hr) which is how the meter is rated (CFH). At 25% load it's rated at 45,790 BTU/hr or 45.79 CFH. My meter supports 250 CFH and with my water heater (36 CHF), gas stove (~60) and gas furnace (~80), plus this at 100% load, would exceed my meter by about 41 CFH. But I'm not planning on running it or gas stove at full power so I should squeak by I'm hoping, without changing out the meter to like 300 CFH.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned this yet. But Plus members do NOT get free shipping as the generator is considered a freight item. Someone please correct me who has a plus membership.
It literally says on the damn page
Freight Shipping Free for Plus on eligible orders over $50

Stop spewing garbage as fact without even doing research. I just purchased this on a plus membership and it was free shipping for me (Texas)
