Great deal at this price.

Ive commented on this laptop a few times.
Ive had it a few months now and I now highly recommend it.

The bad
-I have screen shots showing asus advertises this as "up to 4tb PER SLOT" Its not, it accepts only 2tb per slot. I think they have corrected it now.
-BSOD after updates. Lots of reported issues with this, but I've figured it out. Basically, the AUTO update feature in the myasus app tries to update the bios to some random corrupted bios. Its DIFFERENT than the ones listed on asus.com. The fix is to update to the asus.com version and disable the auto update.

I initially was frustrated with the battery life and the power settings. took a few trial and error, but i have had success with leaving it windows mode with battery saver when unplugged and performance when plugged in. The biggest help was to go through your list of programs and assign only the ones that need the DGPU to have the nvidia, otherwise make sure the rest are set to integrated. Initially my internet browser was set to the 4060 be defualt lol.

Anyway, it runs great. I use it with editing (davinci resolve) surfing and gaming. It seems to run every game ive tried fine.
There goes another thread explaining what kills the deal.

Just went to two stores:

first one had fair without a charger and screws were tempered with. Passed on it.
checked another one open box good, came with charger and seem pristine. Picked that one up.

Gave it to my GF.

The screen is absolutely amazing, i don't know what's up with that bots stating 60hz kills the deal etc., I am typing this on 144hz IPS and it is now impossible to use it, that OLED screen is like cocaine for eyes. Never seen more accurate screen before.

Will run a few 3d mark tests to see what's the performance. The laptop is very well made and very light weight. The best thing is definitely the screen.

The speakers are crazy good too. The best speakers I've ever heard in a laptop.
Decent deal but the 60hz display kinda kills the deal

Is there a mux to disable the dGPU entirely? And do you know if it has any substantial impact on battery? I love this laptop on paper but the APU would suffice for my needs.

Thanks for the detailed insights! Does the 60hz refresh hinder you in anyway and does it hamper how responsive the overall system feels ? Feel like a 2025 refresh would surely fix this (assuming we now have 4K 120hz panels?) so that's the only reason I'm on the fence at this crazy good price.

the open boxes have been at this price for quite a while and I bought one at this price recently. The laptop I received stayed on the update screen and kept rebooting after update errors.

the 4k 90hz oled touchscreen is much more expensive. this dell xps 16 is on sale and still over $2000

The other thing to consider is that the 4060 is pretty weak, so trying to run 4k at 90hz is going to be 50% harder for an already strained graphics card.

How much battery time do you get editing with davinci?

I have lenovo yoga 7 which I bought for a steal a few weeks ago and after using this one I'd return yoga in a heart beat if it was only $300 to upgrade. Lenovo is a good overall laptop but the screen and speakers are another level on this one.

Just FYI, I've tried the yoga pro 9i, and the slim pro 9.
The power button on the yoga broke immediately inside the frame and required a full motherboard to repair so it got returned. And all of the lenova products I've tried the USBC is virtually inoperative. It doesn't recognize anything you plug into it.
I've had no such issues with the ASUS or any other computer I've used.

I've tried three different configurations with DaVinci. Plugged in and performance mode. Awesome of course.
I've used it with the Nevada enabled but In power save mode... 3hrs
And with the dedicated graphics only, 6hrs

For just simple timeline editing, I really don't think it needs the video card surprisingly.

For simple surfing, between 6:00 and 9 hours

It's doing the reboot blue screen thing because it has the newest BIOS from my ASUS.
It's easy to fix, download 312 BIOS from asus's website, who the thing in BIOS and flash 312.
It'll be fixed, now just disable the My ASUS app automatic updates.

Everyone always bashes the 60 Hertz, including me.
But an actual day-to-day use, I've never once been bothered by it. The screen is gorgeous colors are perfect, super bright
