It's not a knock on Makita. I'm a fan of Makita and would prefer them, but I'm weighing my
options between trying to keep a stronger 40v setup (Ryobi batteries, blower, trimmer and lawn mower I have all lasted around 6-7 years) vs tossing it for a weaker Makita 18v setup.
Although anecdotal experience, the other slickdealer convinced me that the 18v is weak enough not to pursue it.
Brand doesn't matter as much at this point. Trying to keep my money as efficient as possible .
If I can just buy batteries to keep my setup going instead of going down in performance, that's a win.

Thanks OP for posting, just grabbed a set for my "city home." I've been using a greenworks set and it is crap compared to this.
For those in Seattle, Bellevue had 2 sets left up on the shelf above where they have display models. They're labeled $180 but rang up as $144.

Addendum - I'm the one with both the Makita and Ryobi whisper.
For the Makita I also have the blower tip. FYI it's two extra pieces you need to buy, the tip and the adapter to go from the blower to the tip. It does help to concentrate the air.
Still think it's a good deal for those in the Makita ecosystem looking to get these
And like the other SDer I replied to, I too am in the 40v system for the yard tools, mower, blower, chainsaw, pole saw, tiller, which have all been much more affordable and powerful than the current Makita options. And at the end of the day, I'd still pick my Ryobi over the Makita for the reasons I listed before, power and quietness, and it's another ecosystem I'm already invested in

I mean you were the one with the offhand comment about Temu? Sounded like you were defending the Makita 18v over a 40v Ryobi battery that would keep my setup going.
Not sure if you're trying to troll me, but have a good day.
But in volume and cfm, I'm able to blow wet leaves no problem. Just need to have enough batteries to sustain it, so I've picked them up with other 40V tool/battery BOGO deals, DTO, and Facebook marketplace.
That said, for battery life, the makita can get about 15-30 min on a 5ah and the Ryobi get about 10-20 min on a 40v 4ah, both depending on how much you're running the blower.
Personally I'd keep the Ryobi, having the CFMs to be able to blow clumped wet leaf piles is nice, and my ears thank me too.
But for someone who doesn't have either of these tools and is on the Makita platform, this is a good deal. The older combo of this is what I got. String trimmer battery life lasts forever and is light and comfortable to use. The blower works well and has a variable speed and a constant speed setting so you don't have to hold the trigger when doing low speed dust cleanup.
Not quite as good, but they also had the two 4ah Lithium-Ion batteries with charger kits on sale from $200 down to $160.
