What is this? A fire pit for ants? It's going to need to be at least twice this size.

That was a propane issue. Probably not going to explode with wood

The thing that gets me more is "smokeless". I came to see what fuel it was using. Wood is smokeless now?
It burns the wood efficiently. The intake holes circulate air, so the combustible 'wood gas' is burnt efficiently so significantly less smoke is produced. Much nicer for sitting around, although this is much smaller than a normal fire pit.

Amazon had a recall on one of these tabletop fires not too long ago. It exploded and killed someone. I wouldn't go anywhere near one of these let alone buy one.
That particular one looks like it used alcohol for the fuel, where this one uses wood or pellets. Also, looks like they must have tried adding more fuel while it was still lit. Shouldn't be a problem with this fire pit as long as you use some common sense.

To be fair, that's how all these brands advertise these. SOLO Stove is probably the most reputable and expensive, same wording.

While I am not taking the risk.... I'm curious as to if they were using fuels.

I did some LIGHT googling and it looks like the bottom does use a fuel source (like petroleum fuel source, not wood or pellets).

Not saying I defend this product or anything, but it doesn't look like it uses fuel, but rather wood or pellets. So no explosions (again, I'm not taking the risk myself... I have a LO, so no fires hahaha)

I have the solo stove mesa (got on clearance for 15 bucks a year ago), similar size to this.

Yes it's tiny, yes it burns through fuel fast (oak sticks or pellets), but it perfect for making smores on the porch when you don't want a big fire or microwave smores. Two people can reasonably "cook" together, you get just enough burn time to make one or two sets.

Perfect to use during the rainy season, or when you are just feeling lazy.

At seven inches it's not much different than the rocket stove I made out of food cans. Seems a good price for someone who doesn't want to spend the time making one though.

I have the SOLO stove and it is "virtually" smokeless once it gets going. Because of the air vents and the heat creating a "funnel" of hot air, the wood pellets burn hotter and more efficiently and don't get much chance to smolder. It's like a less extreme version of a jet engine.
