What is this? A fire pit for ants? It's going to need to be at least twice this size.

That was a propane issue. Probably not going to explode with wood

Seems like a great SHTF hobo stove. I made my own out of a coffee can and put more than $10 in labor into the project.

Drop some wood fuel pellets in this thing. It's not smokeless but it's really clean compared to sticks

I got the Solo version of this as a gift a few years ago. It burns pellets or small wood (twigs basically) and if it gets going enough it will indeed jet fire out the top to a degree that made my wife so nervous that she didn't like me lighting it. It gets very hot, but it's so small it wont keep you warm and is really only good for smores or ambiance (although you have to constantly feed it to keep it going). I imagine you could boil water on it, although I'd be nervous about tipping it over or burning myself on it. It's kind of neat, but it's really just a toy for playing with fire which might not make it the smartest thing to own.

Amazon had a recall on one of these tabletop fires not too long ago. It exploded and killed someone. I wouldn't go anywhere near one of these let alone buy one.
Hmmm have to wonder why the thumbs down votes on yours and especially the 6 to 1 downvotes for the guy who actually linked a CBS news article.
Really says something. And for the peeps out there. Yes it's a different(almost identicle) item. They are all made basically the same. Yes they probably were using a lighted fluid. I have one of those. I won't be using fluid for sure. But it says you can use pellets, wood etc like the others.
The downvotes isn't good for this sites reputation.

this looks like it would be great for tailgating even if a little small.

Yeah I remember seeing that in the news last year. Very sad, I'm staying away from these: https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/bosto...-explodes/
Those are the ones you put alcohol in. Burning wood sticks wont cause explosions.

FWIW I have had various fire pits,,, solostove, rocketstoves, no names, chinesiums, smokless, non smokeless, I fix my own pellet stove that heats my house etc etc.... I have even built a couple out of paint cans.....once I even built an alchohol stove out of an aluminum can to be able to make coffee when the power was out for 2-3 days.... anyway Im just an amature fire bug not a pro and can accept no responsibility for people being idiots even if it is fun...

No This probably (but try it) isn't big enough to sit around for warmth on a 30 degree day but what I think this probably would be great for is to cook on and maybe and easy ambiance fire....

I really cant see how this ever could explode unless you threw some sort of accelerant on it, with just wood i think that would be near impossible

I don't have the stove in front of me but 99.9% of stoves like these inc solostove are designed with an inner and outer "can" that super heats air and directs it at what would be smoke but instead the super heated air ignites the smoke and thus is "smokeless" Yes it smokes when being lit and if the fire is choked out but once you get the hang of it, it can be essentially smokeless. Its called gasification and you can google it to learn all about it. I find it fascinating personally....

Wood is generally the best fuel maybe the only fuel... my presumption like others have said is the dual fuel would be pellets , but pellets never really work that well from my experience and when they start to go out they smoke like a mother F#C^@er... If you have gotten pellets to work in stoves like these please lett me know how....

I would like to thank slickdeals for getting me to spend yet another $10 on something I really dont need and I could probably ramble on about fire pits and camping $#!t for another couple pages but I have a fire to build...

That particular one looks like it used alcohol for the fuel, where this one uses wood or pellets. Also, looks like they must have tried adding more fuel while it was still lit. Shouldn't be a problem with this fire pit as long as you use some common sense.
That one uses wood and pellets too. I have it. It also looks near identical to this one.
I'd say go for it. I like it. We got a refund and email on the one that killed. But using wood seems fine(burns pretty fast though and need to be close to feel the heat)!

The thing that gets me more is "smokeless". I came to see what fuel it was using. Wood is smokeless now?
You really haven't seen all the Solo Stove hype and copycats (which this is one of) over the last few years? Once the fire gets to temp, they really do produce very little smoke: https://youtu.be/GJO-ok3rATs?t=668

Wood or pellets explode? You must be smoking, don't put fireworks or bombs in there bro.

All of these mini fite pots are pretty much useless. You get the same effect from using a tin can. They make smoke, the fire requires almost constant fuel, the give off little to no heat, except above.

Nah, just reduced (at at least two retailers) to a price it might actually be worth.
