Folks at Reddit.....That says it all. There are knowledgeable people with hundreds ,maybe thousands of speakers auditioned over their life. Steve G said these are some of his favorites he's ever auditioned. So...does that mean I'm buying em'...maybe. I'll audition them before I make a statement on their sound. The reason, everyone is different..

Generally the Reference Premier line are pretty good, on discount. I have the towers and center speaker of this same series and love the sound on them.

That is quite old and as you can see their one exception is this reference premiere line (RP series), which is this speaker series.

Specifically for mainly home theater as the use case, not much can touch these at this sale price in my opinion.

I got these in walnut last week when they went on sale. Adorama had them here in 3 days. Given the choice maybe I'd do black but I kind of like the walnut. Either way, I have an old set of Synergy F-3 and these things nuke them for fidelity. Hell where i have them installed some people might not even want a sub, depending on what you listen to. I'd still recommend a sub. That being said, these might be the best thing you can buy for 300.00. They're damn, damn good. In fact unless I am trying to blow the house up with edm I prefer them over the floors.

You're kinda crazy if you don't snag these up if you are looking for speakers. These are also cheaper than the old version which has the midrange droop are selling for (350). for 300 they can't be beat. Most people will never need more than these. I have mine paired to an R-N600A.

They're right about not buying at MSRP but the RP600M in particular is a good deal at $300 and I'm sure you will find countless people on reddit who agree. They also recently upgraded their RP subwoofer line including upping the warranty on the problematic subwoofer amps to 5 years.

Would the wiim amp be good to power these? If it is, would these with the wiim amp and a sub sound better than the q990D for casual tv and music listening?

That is a good deal. I love these for my home theater. I personally feel they are a bit bright for my 2 channel setup. But I don't know that you can go wrong at that price.

I own these and think they sound great. Please keep in mind they are horn tweeters, but they aren't harsh. Think of it as half a decibel 'louder' of a tweeter than many dome tweeters. This helps them be lively and dynamic, which is especially great for acoustic music, voice, guitar, piano, and movie soundtracks.

If you're going to watch 5 hours a day of TV shows on them, the horn tweeter "can" (not to everyone though) start to be too much.
Any idea how they compare to the Sony HS4 for 2.1 or 2.2 computer audio desktop/office setup in a 14x11 room.

These are very easy to drive speakers and so the wiim amp would be a good option to power them. I can't answer on the Q990D.
For casual listening you may not even need a subwoofer, but just try how the speakers sound without it. If you are concerned of a weak low range and your listening room is big, consider tower speakers instead: that's all they do, sound as their bookshelf brothers with a bigger low range.

Excellent deal on some really nice bookshelf speakers. People complain about "too much treble" but people will complain about anything and everything.
You need to judge for yourself by listening to the type of audio you usually use. Also remember that almost any cone based speaker has a break-in period where the cone is stiff when new but loosens up over time with use. I usually reserve judgement until the thing has had 50-100 hours of use at the usual listening levels.
I do have an almost-all-Klipsch system here (11 speakers total, plus two passive 15" subs with separate amplifier) and an additional SVS sub as well, so I may be somewhat prejudiced toward the brand. Having said that, I will also say that I would never again buy a powered Klipsch sub - I've had FIVE amplifier failures in those over the years. They may understand speakers, but they don't know crap about designing a sub amplifier that won't fail sooner or later.

I cant tell you are not an expert because you just blatantly posted some 3 year old sticky on Reddit about Klipsch products. But the kicker here is that what that posts talks about is the "fake" SALE prices, sensitivity and SUbwoofers. None of those are about this product, because if you actually read what you posted, EVEN at the bottom, it says the RP 600m series are good models, which this model (the 600M II) falls under the same category. I would stop posting fake news and do my DD before posting again.

Yep, at $650, not a slick deal, but 3 clams....Trying to talk myself into these as if I need em. If I do, no more lookin at the more costly old JBL 4311 I'm currently tempted to buy.

I Own these and really like them. Used for mains and now my surrounds. Dont have experience with other brands in this range to compare, But I've had crappy speakers before, these are not. personally for me - they do not disappoint and sound great for everything I've thrown at it. Also bought from adorama. No issues.

"Harsh Treble" is something older Klipsch were more known for. I put it in quotes because it was more just "treble heavier" than most comparable speakers, which may sound harsh to some. Their newer lines such as these 600 series toned that down, plus with these II series refined the midrange as well.
I run a Klipsch rc-62 ii center and rf-82 II towers for my L/R and despite being older, they sound really good and don't sound harsh at all.

But I would like to downsize to bookshelf sized speakers for the L/R (the rf-82 II towers are huge and wife doesn't like them).

Just wondering if theses RP-600M ii bookshelf speakers would match well with my Klipsch rc-62 ii center?
