So how is this? Worth the price and model? I am looking for something to manage my sump pump if the power goes out. I initially bought an expensive sec america inverter without realizing these things can probably do just as good as that for backup. Plus I can use it in other locations if necessary.

for the money, u should consider the Delta 2 Max refurb on Ecoflow Ebay store. it has 2kwh storage and twice the solar input. it is currently $699. And, you can add up to 2 extra batteries with 2kwh capacity. I own several ecoflow devices and like them all. great design, customer support and warranty.

I agree with this the Delta 2 Max is the right balance between weight and capacity. The refurbished units are like new and hard to distinguish from new, along with full warranty.

Can they handle a sump pump? where do I get it. I went to eco website and didn't see refurbs off hand.

Goto "Ecoflow Official Store" on Ebay...Refurbished Delta 2 Max for $699 after Coupon right now..I've bought 2 Refurbished 3600wh Delta Pros, Solar Panels, accessories, etc from them..all have worked fine for me, I think refurbished gets a 2yr warranty vesus 5yr on a New one, but you save a lot on price...It's Their store to sell New and Refurbs on Ebay.

From my understanding this "delta 3 premium" is sold only by Costco, it's not a "delta 3 plus" but more similar to a "delta 2", and only the plus has the <10ms switchover for official UPS use, although Costco's product page says <15ms which may be good enough for some equipment. The Delta 3 Plus is on sale on ecoflow's site for about this same price, and was even cheaper from Wellbots a few weeks ago at ~$550, the model here from Costco is 1500Wh vs the 3 plus with 1000Wh.

I paired a Delta 3 Plus with a 2kWh delta 2 max smart battery, which came in a two pack from ecoflow's costco next page for ~$750 each, for a total of 3kWh at ~$1400. There are better deals on a per kWh basis, but it looks like only the delta 3 plus is officially capable of UPS, and I wanted that functionality.

There have been lots of deals recently for 1000wh or so power stations around $360 e.g. Delta 2.
Delta 3 1500 has more capacity which is nice. The rest of the features is more like the Delta 2 than Delta 3 though. So it would be nice to see this closer to $530 to be comparable on a $/wh basis.

Costco for peace of mind, they have a lot of issues. Not sure about the newer versions.

the wellbots deal on the delta 3 plus is still live, and in fact with code: EMAILECO14, it went down a couple dollars to $538.67, and no tax for me in my state. i found another website which also has no sales tax in my state, and they advertise that they will beat any price, so i called them and they knocked off a bit more off the price and beat wellbots. essentially got the delta 3 plus for $484 + tax.

unless you live in one of the five states that does not have sales tax, you will have to pay sales tax on this costco deal, so it's starting to approach $700. not worth it. yes the battery capacity is 50% more, but it is gimped in other ways. only one solar input, which is a big deal, since the delta 3 plus has two xt60i solar inputs, and these pv inputs are not only useful for those with solar panels, but also useful for using cheap non-ecoflow external batteries to extend the run time on the power station.

you can simply take an o ring to xt60i cable (a handful of bucks) and hook it up to an external battery (up to 60 volts: i.e. 12v, 24v, 36v, 48v battery) and feed it to the solar input of the delta 3 to charge it back up. slower with 12v batteries, but up to 500w with a 48v battery. with two solar inputs on the delta 3 plus, you can feed both solar inputs off of one battery with two cables or a y-splitter cable, or you can use two external batteries and feed each solar input.

so, the delta 3 plus, with dual solar dc inputs, makes it easy to use an external battery (of your brand choice) to add capacity to the power station. you can more than double the capacity from 1024 wh to 2.3 kwh with a cheap 12v 100ah lifepo4 battery that costs $110-125. you can take a 48v 100ah server rack battery (5.1 kwh) and add 5 times the capacity for $800+ dollars.

the costco delta 3 premium does have 1 solar input, so you can feed it with an external battery, but then the port is used up and not available for a solar panel.

with the delta 3 plus and its two solar inputs, you can have solar panel(s) plugged into one pv input, and charge with an external battery at the same time with the other pv port.

bottom line, is it is much nice having two solar inputs with the delta 3 plus.

there are some other differences as well, if i am not mistaken. the delta 3 plus has dual 140 watt usb-c fast charging ports, while the delta 3 premium is limited to 100w usb-c ports. not a big deal for some.

it was $549 beginning around the very end of october and into november, but it has drifted down a bit. the current deal at wellbots for the delta 3 plus is $538.67. not a huge drop, but better than nothing.

the delta pro 3 and delta pro ultra are essentially the same price now as they were back towards the end of november, just before black friday. no price drop.

Any comments on the failure rate of Ecoflow products? Reddit comments do not paint a good picture of this company or their support from my reading. Maybe all these products are made in the same factory with a different shell. I like the idea of an all in one unit vs separate components to manage, but when one piece fails, it all fails.

Using a generic external battery is nice because you can get them way cheaper per wh than the official expansion batteries. The problem is even with two solar inputs you'd need some other controller and panels to charge to external battery.

you can use the ecoflow alternator charger to send up to 800 watts bi-directionally from the power station to a 12v or 24v battery. unfortunately does not work with 48v. you can use the app to control the charging speed with 100 w increments, i.e. 100w, 200w, 300w up to 800w. it uses the battery expansion port, so does not take up any of the solar inputs. that is the most elegant and convenient solution, but it will set you back a couple hundred bucks. there are cheaper workarounds.
