I bought this saw and the 12" chainsaw to remove dead branches from my five large oak trees. I also have a Stihl 021 with a 16" bar but ended up not using that at all. Both the saws worked great but this 8" pruning saw got used the most. It cut everything I threw at it and it could be used one handed. Great saw.

For many people the reciprocating saw is safer and offers more versatility than this pruning chainsaw. Speed and cut quality is roughly equal with a good blade and sharp chain.

It much easier and cheaper to replace blades over chains. Both tools cut quickly and can be used one-handed. Recip saw doesn't require oil and won't leak.

Not saying this chainsaw isn't a great tool. Just saying if you only need a pruning saw occasionally, recip saw will do that and can also cut nail embedded wood, metal, etc.

The new practice (since November) is for newcustomer10 to be turned off on Saturdays during the flash sale.
