They also have the Gen 3 sub for 769.99 - 170.00 = 599.99

And that's also eligible for the $80 Apple Gift Card or $80 SiriusXM Gift Card.

I believe there really isn't any difference between the Gen 3 and Gen 4 subs.

Does anyone know why a product that was launched a few months ago is now being heavily discounted? I've noticed Adorama selling it for $599.99 more often.

my guess is to bring more people into the ecosystem to mitigate some of the damage from the app debacle and CEO resigning.

in addition to that, the sub 4 is not a major upgrade from the last version, unlike the arc ultra which doesn't get any discounts.

I was just about to say, isn't Sonos that brand that accidentally wrecked their own app pretty much irreversibly through an update they couldn't roll back where people couldn't even play their own music properly through their $1000+ sound systems?

Yes - While I love my Sonos system, it works now, I wouldn't buy it again, that debacle showed their true colors and lack of planning/foresight.

They're drumming up business due to the app disaster + most people are buying the minisub for half the price as it turns out the thing overdelivers.

Eh- the app issues are 90% solved. The people complaining are the outsider "I use a Plex server to stream FLAC from a Bluetooth repeater while I'm at a remote location" type of users.

I'm being honest when I say since last October or so the Sonos app is now working pretty damned well. The Sonos voice assistant is also a lot faster and more useful.

exactly, i just got the ultra arc, two era 300s and sub 4 and it has worked flawlessly. only hiccup was adding the sub which the workaround was unpairing surround speakers then reinstalling with the sub. overall sonos is so easy to use and not over complicated. and this is coming from a die hard apple fanboi who used four OG homepods as my living room setup for years.

It's "fine" as far as subs go. I had to buy two and stack them to get decent controlled output. But I'm satisfied.
