Definitely not. The series goes as far back as the GameCube. It's a simple premise, yes, but definitely more than a mobile game. If you've never played one, they're a lot of fun.
Just wanted to give the heads up that the local multiplayer for the mini games only supports 2 player split screen. If you want more than that, it's online only. 4 player split screen was the only reason I got this. (For my kids) I assumed it would be like every other entry in the series in that regard. I was wrong.

You could say that about many Switch games?

These games are incredibly fun. I probably logged more hours into Super Monkey Ball 2 than any other game on Gamecube(except Mario Kart). The target mode was so addicting. So much fun.

I really liked Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz on the Wii. But haven't played any others. Are these all pretty much the same, or can anybody compare this with that? Thanks in advance.

I really hate how developers have crapped out on couch multiplayer over the years. Systems 100x more powerful now than they were 20 years ago but somehow they now can't let more than one or two players on a console.

How else are they gonna sell 2 copies of the game to the same family?

Yeah, this is really sad, as the 2 player is fun. We have been taking turns, but could have been great.

And for "local" multiplayer some consoles require each person to have an online account.. so lame

I tried to purchase for shipping and it told me it wasn't available. I added a copy for store pickup and it let me checkout with the copies for shipping and the one for store pickup. We'll see if my order for shipping gets canceled.
