I guess I should buy a new one? The huge one I bought at Costco and been using for years probably expired in 2013.

No, dehydrated herbs and spices rarely go bad (unless they get wet). The flavors may be less intense but I wouldn't worry about it going had.

You don't want to buy more than you'll use in 6 months. Spice companies say to replace after six months to a year. I personally still have spices that are older than a year. My spices clump, due to humidity of where I live. Small quanitties cost the same or more than large amounts. It also tough to guess how much you will use.
