And yet their base layers I bought many years ago from Costco I still use daily for work as a regular long sleeve shirt.

Yes all of their items are synthetic, so if you're a natural fibers lover, this won't be good for you at all. But IMO they do synthetics right. They're stretchy, light, comfortable, feel good on the skin, and durable.
Downsides include limited sizing and very limited colors. They seem to want to keep their inventory low to reduce costs. I like solids, and all of their clothing literally rotates between the same 5 colors. And the jeans don't even have length measurement, only waist. Being a short guy, most of their items fit too long, and their jeans needed hemming. And their items are hit and miss for me, some of them feel cheap.
Personally I'll pick up some of these woven shirts, as they're a dollar less than normal and I freaking love them.
