These are actually pretty cool. At least the star wars ones. Have given a couple to my kid to build and they are a nice project

These cardboard kits are difficult to build for a sub 10year old. If you want to do this as a joint effort, it's great. Otherwise, the connecting points are small and delicate and will cause lots of frustration.

I recently got the xwing 4d model. Got it cheap for $13. It was a lot of fun to build.
The trick was to use a small flat screw driver to open up the small holes, and build a few pieces and glue them. Then wait till next day. Build more pieces and glue. This will prevent pieces from coming off.

Is it really a puzzle if you're just following step by step instructions? I guess every IKEA furniture purchase is also a "puzzle." However, this looks neato, but I'm not a big enough transformers fan to display a two foot tall Optimus Prime. Now, if they had a Macross or Robotech SDF-1, I'd be all over it.

Heads up. I received this from Amazon today. They shipped without an outer box and plastered shipping labels all over it. So if you planned to keep it in box this may not be a good option
