Can't seem to sign up for the rewards thing. Sometimes I get a weird error about a "conflict" then other times it says I successfully submitted my data but never moves past the signup page, and I get no email confirmation.

I know it's still "fast food," but why do we need so many ingredients in a basic hamburger and fries?

Fries: French Fries Potatoes, Vegetable Oil (Contains One Or More Of The Following: Canola, Palm, Soybean, Sunflower), Modified Food Starch (Potato, Corn, Tapioca), Rice Flour, Salt, Pea Starch, Dextrin, Leavening (Disodium Dihydrogen Pyrophosphate, Sodium Bicarbonate), Dextrose, Xanthan Gum, Fryer Oil (Liquid And Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, TBHQ And Citric Acid (Preservatives), Dimethylpolysiloxane (Anti-Foaming Agent)), Fry Seasoning Salt, Dehydrated Garlic, Spices, Soybean Oil, Not More Than 2% Silicon Dioxide Added To Prevent Caking..,

100% Beef Patty: Burger Patty: Ground Beef, Seasoning: Salt, Spice, Garlic Powder, Sunflower Oil (Flow Agent),

Toasted Brioche Bun: Brioche Bun: Enriched Flour (Wheat, Malted Barley, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Water, Flour (Wheat, Malted Barley), Sugar, Yeast, Palm Oil, Wheat Gluten, Salt, Contains Less Than 2% Of Each Of The Following: Cultured Wheat, Vinegar, Natural Flavors, Soybean Oil, Guar Gum, Enzymes, Ascorbic Acid, Corn Flour, Spice (Turmeric, Paprika), Dextrose, Corn Starch, Maltodextrin, Dextrin, Triglycerides.

Topping: Water, Pea Protein, Dextrose, Maltodextrin, Modified Food Starch, Butter Alternative: Liquid And Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Salt, Natural & Artificial Flavor, Soy Lecithin, TBHQ And Citric Acid (Preservatives), Artificial Color, Dimethylpolysiloxane (Anti-Foaming Agent),

Pickle Chips: Fresh Cucumbers, Water, Vinegar, Salt, Calcium Chloride, Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), Spices, Garlic, Turmeric, Polysorbate 80,

Tomato Slices: Tomatoes,

Lettuce: Lettuce,

Sliced Red Onion: Red Onion
What on this list is unreasonable

Compare it to Five Guys, which is arguably more "fast food" (counter serve):

Fries: Potatoes, Refined Peanut Oil, Salt
Bun: Water, Salt, Sugar, Vegetable Shorting (Contains: Soy), Milk, Eggs, Bleached Bread Flour, Yeast, Sesame Seeds
Hamburger Patty: 80/20 USDA Ground Chuck

You can actually see yourself making the same burger Five Guys does at home, using regular kitchen ingredients you find in, you know, a kitchen. Not Dimethylpolysiloxane and nearly a dozen other chemicals you find in a lab. Applebees is serving ultra-processed shit food.

All of those starches in the fries are to make them crispy but they also make the fries disgusting. You'll see that they have a weird texture and coding. Chick-fil-A recently changed their fries to include pea starch and they are now gross.

Because Applebees is literally microwave reheated leftovers. So that giant ingredients list and preservatives you see in the freezer section is what you get at Applebees.
True. It reduces loss since the stuff lasts forever and drastically reduces labor costs. That anyone would think that these industrialized chain restaurants are actual restaurants where food is cooked makes me chuckle. It's the equivalent of setting up a table in Walmarts freezer section. Enjoy!

Freezer section doesn't need preservatives. The dry and fridge section does.

I really hope that RFK Jr can help eliminate a lot of the ultra processed ingredients that essentially poison us. There's a reason many countries in the world including the EU ones have outlawed them
