Reminder to folks that these are 12v. I got excited but overlooked the 12v mention until I got to the site. If it was 20v I would've been all over it!

As for the 20v version, you're correct, there are few promotions. Also, those newer 3/8"-1/2" combo wrenches are really nice. I'm holding out for a good promotion for that one.

I understand why ppl would prefer 20v for compatibility but i prefer the 12v. Size is everything when it comes to a ratchet. I use my tools professionally and have a ton of 20v and flexvolt but a few tools 12v. That at least use the same charger. I already have the 12v interchangeable anvils between 1/4" and 3/8". M12 has somehow found a way that ppl dont mind 12v tools even tho they are different batteries but yet ppl dont like it for dewalt for even a few specific tools.

edit- also the extended reach is not available in 20v so unfortunately there is no choice for that

These sell new for around $175 on Ebay from legit tool sellers like CPO. You can also get a certified refurb with warranty for around $140.

Good info to know. So $50 for the batteries and charger and new. If you dont need the batteries and maximize savings can typically sell the starter kit for 70 to 80.

Is the $175 bare tool or does it come with batteries and a charger as well?

Same. Everything that I have is 20v. One day soon, perhaps.

Jus go for it. It comes with 2 batteries and it charges on the same charger still. Its only a ratchet. Your not gonna blow through both those batteries in a day or even 1. And theres no extended reach available for 20v

Have never seen a deal like this for DeWalt before with the extended ratchets. Sucks I stopped using it as much due to price and since I'm not using commercially I've been happy with Bauer and Hercules. That being said this is a great deal

I have this tool, got it when it first came out, it's my go to tool in the garage, it's a great tool and has a surprising amount of tightening torque for a ratchet, battery lasts a long time as well. My only gripe is due to the extended length it's a bit heavy, especially when you're laying on your back on a creeper and stretching out to reach a bolt, but it's a fair trade off for the extended reach it provides.

I have this one and the sealed head 1/4-3/8. This one doesn't get used as often, but there have been times in an engine bay that it was the only thing that would work. If you can't reach the spot and you can't swing a hand ratchet, this one is a lifesaver. It has a lot of torque, so it will break loose most stuff under a hood, brakes and suspension, you have to crack bolts manually.

If I'm not in the Dewalt battery ecosystem, is it worth it for 1 tool? I have Milwaukee impact wrench, Milwaukee SDS hammer drill and Ridgid everything else. I've been waiting for a Milwaukee ratchet deal with battery to show up since I don't have any of their 12v tools.

Check out the Torque Test Channel review of the DCF503 in this thread from ~2 years ago: https://youtu.be/s33t9WH92CQ

This is also a good one of the DCF510 were they still spoke highly and favorable of the DCF503: https://youtu.be/mECOXxWqFmQ

You don't have the 5 in 1? Shame...it's become my light task go to. And far more ergonomic compared to red's ferengi phaser...

I'm using red & yellow tools. Mostly yellow, for better batteries & a single charger needed for 12/20/60v.
Otherwise only 6 red tools, caulker, stapler, packout fuel w/d vac, stick pump & 2 rocket lights but have to have either 2 chargers or a combo charger on hand.
Granted I have hires who have a few red tools, so I must have red chargers available.
