I just sold my msi Stealth gs77 with 3060 last week for 600 bucks so this would be a 150 dollar upgrade.

FYI that 300 nit screen has been shown to hit 350+ in testing. Throw another stick of ram in there and this is a really nice machine imo.

edit: missed that it was 2x 8gb sticks, which means you will need to upgrade both in an ideal scenario.

Reserved a good condition for pickup because of the tempting price. Still deciding if I want to pick it up. Not a fan of the screen and aesthetics. Going to check it out in store and compare to Legion 7i and Zephyrus G16.

Went ahead and jumped on this. Looks quite heavy at mid 5 pounds but to be expected with a 4070 and is also quite loud when running performance mode. But overall looks like a great performer for the price!

Looks like one BB reviewer noted two 8gb Hynix RAM sticks in their laptop, so it's going to have to be a 2x16 or 2x32 kit, which are obviously more expensive than a single stick of DDR5. Still an incredible deal though.

So I grabbed the ASUS - TUF Gaming A16 16" 165Hz Gaming Laptop FHD-AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS with 16GB DDR5 Memory- Radeon RX7700S 512GB PCIe SSD deal with a good open box for 627 after tax. Would returning and grabbing a good condition at 810 after for this one be worth the difference?

Don't return it til you pick this one up and try it out. That ASUS is a good machine. This one is better in a few ways — higher res screen, some GPU and CPU improvements — but make sure you like it and you get a good one.

The 15% restocking fee is not for laptops. They list the items it applies to and laptops are not included. Should be a full refund if within the return period
