Zzz.... Under $2 at the Daiso dollar stores in CA, and definitely not worth it at $4 since Daiso even sells ceramic blade models under $2.

Much better for rapid peeling of tons of long vegetables with less fatigue because you're using your arm muscles to pull during the cutting stroke. That's typically stronger than the push of your arm using stick-type peelers.

Carbon steel blade, probably sharper to use ("made in swiss") but will rust esp if put in dishwasher. Inherently a cheaper material and softer = easier to manufacture. OP item is stainless steel.

Most ceramic blades from China are quite inexpensive these days... cheap, but trash -- easy to shatter and not that sharp.

The original Kuhn Rikon definitely feel super cheap, and you'll deal with rust even if you don't dishwasher it. But I've found nothing that works as well, even with things like butternut squash.

I'm looking for any gimmick that makes whole butternut squash quickest to prepare for soup. Any recommendations?
