Thanks to Deal Hunter Eragorn for finding this deal.

Available Options:
  • OLED Model
    • 1TB $519 (going in and out of stock)
  • LCD Model
    • 64GB $279 (going in and out of stock)
    • 512GB $359

  • A refurbished power supply - fully tested (may have minor cosmetic marks)
  • Carrying case and Quick Start guide
Features:
  • Portability meets power. We partnered with AMD to create Steam Deck's custom APU, optimized for handheld gaming. It is a Zen 2 + RDNA 2 powerhouse, delivering more than enough performance to run the latest AAA games in a very efficient power envelope.
  • Your Steam Library, anywhere. Once you've logged into Steam Deck, your entire Steam Library shows up, just like any other PC. You'll also see the compatibility rating of each game, indicating the kind of experience you can expect when playing. You can dynamically filter any view in your library by compatibility rating if you're looking for specific sorts of experiences.
  • Control with comfort. The Steam Deck was built for extended play sessions—whether you're using thumbsticks or trackpads—with full-size controls positioned perfectly within your reach. The rear of the device is sculpted to comfortably fit a wide range of hand sizes.

Unless you want OLED (which I have and the screen is gorgeous), I recommend going with the 64GB model and upgrading the SSD.

Here's a tutorial - recommend checking the comments as well if there's anything they missed.

I don't see any 2230 NVMe SSD's on sale now but you can always set a deal alert for one. Back at BF Newegg had the Crucial 2TB MP600 for ~$100.

While I actually prefer Windows for ease of installation for 3rd party apps (like OpenGoal - Jak and Daxter), I prefer the hardwarde of the OLED model more Smilie Don't know if that's helpful or not haha. The Rog Ally Extreme model will also be more powerful than the Steam Deck.

I was thinking of buying this but I got the Asus Rog Ally X instead. There's a lot of multiplayer games that that won't run on Steam and the X can do more things. I will buy the Steam deck 2 though when it comes out.

Get the ROG Ally X instead. There are open box options from Best buy that are cheaper. I got the X to play MK 1, Tekken 8 at 60fps which it's a lot harder to do on the deck/

I personally don't recommend their "fair" condition items - at $655 for good that's still $136 more than an immaculate condition (from what I've received...) Steam Deck 1TB OLED.

That 1tb is tempting, I'm waiting on delivery of a full price 512gb deck tomorrow. But I've heard the anti glare screen is a pretty big down grade on clarity when indoors. Probably not worth saving $30 and the extra storage.

Getting a little long in the tooth, they need to announce version 2 soon.

Great advice. I did the same and it took 20 minutes. BUT, the OLED has about 20-25% better battery life, so if that's a concern, get the upgrade.
