They add those aftermarket when refurbishing and somehow want to fake it as the "original high spec". Meh

It is super strange. I considered one like this when I was shopping recently for a new laptop. Ultimately decided against it, just too weird.

But has anyone actually used something like this? How does it perform? I have a Legion 7 with 32gb ddr5 and cheapish Dell with 16gb ddr5 and but this somehow makes me think it would be far worse than both of them still

People normally buy these laptops almost as barebones, even without operating system and then just add whatever parts they find and a $5 copy of Windows, if that. You see it a lot on Amazon.

Highly doubt it. It's most likely non-backlit.

Odd... a laptop with 40gb RAM and 2TB SSD... those specs usually include a backlit keyboard...

well.. now you have? the Language on the site automatically updates to "Israel", so maybe this is some sort of a region-specific laptop? https://www.lenovo.com/il/en/p/la...wX7kBaIVXs

though the RAM and SSD have definitely been altered; seems like a potentially risky purchase considering we don't know of the RAM or SSD that they've added.
