No matter how good the build quality may be, this is a laptop, and a thin one ... chances are you won't be using it in 5 years.

Played with one of these in-person (It is MicroCenter after all), and this has slight chassis flex, due to ASUS trying to squeeze 14" lightness out of a 16" chassis.

Other than that, it's a great machine with a great screen, at a great price for anyone who wants a creative lightweight 16" laptop.

I believe the pictures they used on the MC listing are wrong. Those appear to be the S 15, not S 16, the difference being that chin on the screen bezel. The official product listing from Asus has no such chin on the 16, only the 15.

Can anyone comment on the fan noise? I see a wide variety of reviews but none come back to this specific configuration...there are many versions out there. Seems like a good price although I'd have to factor reinstalling Windows without bloatware.
