You can do the Brandsmart G3>>G4 for around $4k delivered.
And BB YMMV but their open box good G4 is $2950ish right now, if you can find one. . .and is you move it yourself and going to be $3200 or so in the end anyways.
But yeah, they all should be down $1k by now even G4. Not that it's old model, just that 83" production costs should be mainstream by now and a larger becomes the realistic envelope for many. I'm sticking with 77" on the OLEDS for now. But this is a great deal for those in the market.

An open box g4 for 3k is a FAR better deal than this. Even 4k would be well worth it for the better internals/brightness. If you need someone else to install or move it for you then yeah you'll have to pay more for that. Being useless is a luxury of the rich as they say.
I love my 65 G3. Also got it on a crazy employee price so it didn't hurt the bank account too much.

But how condescending can you be? Myself +1 moved a 98" LED last week. the packaging on that one weighs more than this TV. I would assume a smaller and much lighter TV would be doable. And if not I could pay more for it to be done for me while lounging.

Please note: 83" G3 Skipped MLA

No point in price comparing G3 Vs.G4 if only one has what you want, right?
I wasn't ever considering a G4 in this size. Just cost. And I just got the 98QM8 so that took a bite out of my fun money to boot. Got bright room covered is an understatement. Now looking for an OLED to complement the LED, not the opposite. And do consider G3 an upgrade over C4 in some ways. And gladly trade the 144Hz gamer for ATSC 3.0 tuner. Glad I can have both on the QM8, because at that size, it's much more than a game changer, it's a new sport.
it's not a question of what I can afford. It's a question of what I'm willing to afford. There's a reason these prices are dropping and inventory still available for the older less desirable model. The price was far too high for the value. The market passed and now they're stepping down the price trying to clear in inventory. It's economics 101. If you like this price and it makes sense for you go for it. You shouldn't need my permission. I'm not being condescending, you are just easily triggered apparently. You're the one that mentioned having to move it being an issue. For me it's a question of value, for you it seems to be a question of wanting it now and convenience. To each their own.
I don't like the price and considering the shortcuts they took on the G3 1000 more for the G4 is a way better deal. It may take a year or two, but we'll see G4 tech under 3500 in that size.
Can you imagine there is more than one path to lowering long term costs vs the avg Joe?
Here's one for you. . .I would rather spend less now on a tech segment (OLED) that is still overly priced for its age even for TV tech. . .while waiting for my $1200 net spent on a Hisense 100" U8 which is covered for $3500 to crap out, so I can then spend $3500 GC at BB on the latest OLED at that time (which will be better than the G4), when it happens.
There is literally next to zero percent chance, in my household, of it not crapping out to BB standards in 5 years. I decided last night to skip any 83" OLEDs as its needlessly overpriced/under equipped across the board at the moment. Especially since early November on the 83" size OLEDS. Underestimating demand/LG's panel hold in effect. And for my usage MLA is not worth much. The QD-LED is a different story and would wait for that . . .and again I was deciding on a 83" OLED vs larger LED for the BEDROOM TV. Have had big ones there since the Mitsu diamond 82" dlp days. . .so that can be a tangent to econ 101 at times, but isn't always, as for thoseDLP were taking Fry's Friday circular to Sears PM+10% of MSRP. . .miss those Frysdays. . .
I'm not feeling FOMO on not having the OLED in the bedroom right now. The Hisense is great. Overkill, yes, but so was the DLP. And it makes more sense Long term, for me, to keep than sell it new for less than what it's going for at BB right now given it's track record, my household's, and the inflated coverage. But this was a one off deal, not too often does BB give a 50% net GC bonus topping to BF pricing. . .
I've decided on and will shell out for now on a smaller OLED as a P.O.P. if you will sidekick to the 98QM8 in the main room. And 77" is the sweet spot deal wise now, but it would be a squeeze as a 2nd for that wall. the 65" is a match and I could even take a chance on the nicer Panasonic or grab a g4.
And I'm ahead of the game on that 98QM851G as well. $2400 installed and covered for $3k. . .better than the $3200+ delivered/insured that everyone is running around trying to grab it for. and I don't want that one to crap out, but it's first year pushing 5k nits on a big box store model and size so it might just fry eventually.

no one cares which tv anyone else is buying because we all know better and already bought the best.
let's enjoy life instead of arguing about total nonsense.
