Bought this during Black Friday last year. The edges of the side support "walls" or beams are sharp and not finished smooth.

Kid hit his head and bled. Installed foam around it myself after that.

Can confirm this is true. Luckily we never had an accident with it as that part of my daughter's bed was always covered with some thick bedding. And I also remember we had to rebuy this bed as the first box was missing parts to complete the build. But we did get some good years out of it before giving it away.
