Guessing this isn't exactly fresh. Might be fine for drip/pour-over. Espresso will be sub-par, at best.
Second this. Last purchase from Amazon of this was three months old
I have not had good luck with this blend in espresso machine, even when ordered fresh direct from Intelligentsia. IIRC, reviews say it is better for drip, but I have never tried it that way. House Blend does work well for both (drip espresso). But all that aside, you'll never get fresh beans from Amazon. Like, ever.

These beans are great, even months after expiration the espresso shots I make are delicious. I'm a coffee snob and don't know how others say, a little old and the coffee is bad. Unless they were stored in a hot warehouse they'd be fine. Even fresh coffee stored incorrectly is bad.

What do you recommend? I've been purchasing these beans from
Target stores for about a year (sale prices only) but think I need to switch it up. It's for a super automatic, which bean would you recommend?

For those who downvoted this comment, be aware of "The Rule of Fifteens" for coffee. Coffee loses CO2 and is considered "stale" after 15 minutes once ground and 15 days once roasted. This directly affects the quality of extraction, though it's not to say you won't like the flavor.
In fact, it's a bit disappointing that Intelligentsia brand no longer ensures freshness through their supply chain. This used to be one of their differentiators. A bit of a sellout.

I don't know coffee beans outside of a few, what's up with the bad ratings?
