Just heard from Jamie Lee Curtis at a corporate event regarding emergency preparedness, especially after the fires. She said a crowbar is a must-have for anyone in an area susceptible to earthquakes, as they can cause door frames to shift and get stuck. Just purchased one to keep under my bed.

For tear offs of a full roof yes. If you are just pulling off a small section it is the right size.

I have a lot of door breaching experience. I don't disagree with the idea. But, I wouldn't entrust my life/safety to a $7 crowbar. If that's a step that you want to take, invest in a high quality pry bar or halligan. These cheap crow bars aren't hard to break, especially if you have any kind of reinforced door.

How does it compare to Harbor Freight's 15 in. Flat Pry Bar [harborfreight.com] for $4?

Wall tile will come off easily with this. Floor tile can require more encouragement. This could do the job, but you'll have a nicer time with something longer that has more leverage.
