Last time I checked, ebay was a goldmine for used/offlease PCs. Anywhere from small form factor to regular sized desktops. Lots for that price range.

These Chinese small desktops seem to also be getting popular. Just know how to reinstall the OS if you're concerned about spyware.

Excluding some Mac Mini deals the closest price point for a Costco retail desktop was $315 in 2017 (see here).

In 2024 a common deal price was around $400 (search parameters here).

The listed Dell XPS to which you have linked is very comparable to the Costco Dell model (regardless of the XPS-branding). For a $100 premium you get a marginally improved CPU and a more capable default power supply. However, you also get a smaller SSD and lose the optical drive (as well as an HDMI output).
