Beware that if anything goes wrong and you'll need a refund, you'll go through hell and waste countless hours of your time with their totally useless CS (that cannot do anything, but submit requests to 'back office' ) and still won't be getting your money back

Bought Pixel 9 for $300 in November. Fedex couldn't collect a signature (I was not home) and ended up returning the package back to Mint as 'undeliverable'. Normally, the company is supposed to issue a refund or replacement once they get the package back. Not Mint Mobile! It has been 3 months since, I still cannot get my money back from them... Turns out, Mint Mobile really (like really really) doesnt like issuing refunds. There are dozens of similar reports on reddit. You have been warned.

Damn... A deal when received but hell when something happens

If you want it to automatically unlock yes. But you can call and get an unlock code also. Many report it can be done sooner than 60 days since you've paid for the phone and plan.
Just for reference, I'm past 60 days and the phone hasn't automatically unlocked. I checked too late tonight and they're closed and will try tomorrow. But it's not like Simple Mobile that automatically unlocks it for you, at least that has been my experience.

So I contacted Mint Mobile today and this is just for future reference in case anyone is looking up this information. In 60 days, you can call them to request the phone be unlocked to use on other carriers but it's not automatic. However, I was told that it would automatically unlock after 6 months without needing to contact them.

Mint's customer service isn't very knowledgeable. The unlock (which is done by T-Mobile's network and is automated just like their other brands) should be automatic after 60 days, you get a pop up on your phone telling you it has been done. Probably a glitch or something in their system wrong for your phone.

The automatic after 6 months was their old timeline (it went from 12 months to 6 months to 60 days over the course of like a year).

Would you move from an iPhone 12 Pro to the 9 pro? I shifted from a Pixel 3a to 12 pro years ago and have been curious about coming back. Granted I've had no issues with the 12pro

My wife has been on mint mobile for 2 years, she was checking the promo in her app and appear the pixel 9 in 399$ and is not necessary buy the entire year to access to the promo, my question is, if she buy the cellphone, is necessary use her number/service to activate the cellphone and getting access to to unlock in 60 days? She has actually a iPhone 15 (eSIM) but the pixel 9 will be for me….. or if I buy a simcard with 3 months service and use in the pixel, anyway will be unlocked after 2 months or this cellphone will be linked to my wife account?
