Wasn't there recent news about cybersecurity vulnerabilities in TP-Link routers and discussions about them potentially being banned due to their use in botnets or something similar?
Beware if you have an older deco unit with parental controls if you upgrade to this unit or any other newer setup they only give you basic limited controls. They want you to now pay for the "advanced features" you had in your older deco's that were free.
I posted this when I was at the warehouse by copying text from image. I would still blame it on AI though.

Not sure about this model, but purchased the AX5000 last year when it went on sale through Costco same day and it was junk. People kept complaining about the wifi, dropped connections, and the 2.4Ghz band was atrociously slow for some reason which caused issues with wifi cams that only use the 2.4ghz band. The mobile app management is a joke - very barebones, you can't even choose wifi channels.

Quote from masif :
I've used TP-Link Deco for over two years with good coverage in my 2,200 sq. ft. home, but the 2.4GHz radios were a nightmare for my 50+ IoT devices—constant disconnects, slow response, and frequent reboots. TP-Link support provided a custom firmware that improved things but didn't fully fix the issues. The biggest downside is the lack of advanced controls like channel selection, TX power, and roaming settings. I finally switched to Linksys Velop AX5300 with OpenWRT, giving me full control and way better stability. TP-Link Deco is fine for basic users with minimal IoT, but not great for smart home enthusiasts.
I had this issue as well with the AX5000 and the 2.4GHz band. Laggy wifi cameras and dropped connections. Barebones app management.

Oh dang. Looks like the price went down to $169.97 at my store, too. Time to stop by with a receipt and get the difference this weekend.

I'm in California and bought this router for $250 from Costco. After two weeks, the price dropped to $199, so I went back to Costco to request the price difference. However, they refused because the item was no longer in stock."

Got the price adjustment yesterday. It took about 20 minutes for the CSR to figure out how to do it with a manager near by... This was my very first in-store purchase price adjustment (everything else was online). They rang the item at the current price ($169.97), then rang it again and did a manager override changing the price to -$199.97 resulting in a refund. Is that how the in-store pride adjustments are typically done?

Got Orbi RBR20 2-pack years ago and was waiting to upgrade to something good. How will the AXE 5300 3 pack be?? I'm guessing a massive improvement?
