I have one that is several generations old, I believe it's the G. Great TV for the price. Had an initial issue disconnecting from my old LG sound bar through Arc, but it has been resolved in one of the updates it got a few years back.

The U7 and TCL Qm7 battle it out as the best midrange TV's.

I own this TV. I don't upgrade my TV very often, previous TV was ten years old. I'm using the internal WiFi and software, not using sound bar, internal speakers are good enough for me. Haven't tried any external devices like Xbox, Roku, anything external. I use streaming apps YoutubeTV, Netflix, Hulu, prime, … I'm happy with it. I have had a few software updates. I was going to spend twice what this cost and on a whim decided to spend half on the Hisense. Bought through Amazon for $700 last year.

Sounds like a decent deal on a well rated TV. I don't need a new TV just yet. What are the chances that a better deal for a similar quality TV comes up in the next few months, or even Black Friday?

It was this price on BF/CM and a few weeks after on AZ and BB until xmas. Even $30 less on AZ. Seems to be the best tV money can buy for $500 in 55 inch. It went back to $800 for a few weeks and then $600, now back to $500. I cancelled my thanksgiving order. Sounds like if someone sees this later there is a good chance it hits $500 again for certain holidays. I will contemplate again if i should get a new TV at this time.

Not a traditional Desk setup though, you'ld have to be standing/sitting quite a few feet back to not strain your eyes/neck looking at this 8hrs/Day.

You would definitely want to be 3-5 feet away but in terms of size it's comparable to having 4 27" monitors. It's not too crazy of a setup.

Own a QM7, its a great set. This tv reviews slightly better, is currently priced exactly as a QM7. If you want a nice tv but arent willing/cant spend the premium for an OLED, you cant wo wrong with either at this price point.

So I ended up buying both the u7 and the Q7 at the beginning of November and December to test them side by side 55 in. All in all the u7 has much better sound it fills the room it is Basie really impressed with the sound profile of this television. That being said with all of my adjustments the Q7 seems to have a richer picture when I want it the most I ended up watching quite a few movies with them showing side by side frame for frame and I always found myself looking at the Q7 I will say that the u7 bright scenes are fantastic open ocean things of that nature whereas dungeon scenes on the Q7 looked much better much richer all in all glows from fires looked so much more in-depth. As far as gaming goes they're both basically the same I think the feature set on the u7 for adjustments of the television is far superior both in audio and video adjustments.
All in all I ended up keeping both televisions and got them both for I think 900 $476 for the u7 and $436 for the Q7.

Very good but not many looking today want to wait until Black Friday.

The u8 is where they start to get into great tv territory. Real bright HDR goodness.

Just picked up a 55u6n for about $250 would it be worth it to return and get this or is it not worth double the cost for the bump up model?
