Over priced. Impressive processor but it could do at least 32g ram / 2tb nvme or higher.

Yeah I'm so surprised they would even release an 8 gb model at this point. Shameful even if it is expandable. I think I'm going to wait for a GTX 5070 model in march before I made decisions.

Edit: it is 16 GB and the post needs updating. Still waiting til march tho!

I think you mistook 8 gb x 2 for just 8 gb.

Sure but for 1250 you can spend 80-120 for more ram and have an amazing processor and gpu with a good screen that's big for not a lot of money. The only issue I see is the screen is too big and any benefit the processor gives you (has battery saving integrated graphics so gpu doesn't always have to run) is sort of offset by it being so big. If the screen was 14-15 this laptop would cost more imo. So it's a good idea with yes, very low base ram but ram aside 1tb base is fine for most so it's priced well imo.

Looks like it's 16gb ram, so again I think it's priced well just sort of not for everybody.

Please tell us where you have seen a ROG Strix with a 4070 for less than $1300. I have not seen it this low before.
With Strix, the RAM and SSD can be upgraded after purchase.
