Best Elder Scrolls game imo. You get quests like "go to this tomb located northeast of Balmora and kill this guy." There are zero quest markers , Game doesn't hold your hand at all. Also the lore and overall feel of the world you're exploring is unique compared to any elder scrolls game or open world rpg game ever created. Definitely a top 5 game I've ever played.

I remember playing this when it came out on the original Xbox. So many hours wasted as a kid. Ah, such fun.

Definitely worth picking up if you never played it. If you liked Skyrim or Oblivion, you should try it.

Such good memories. I never actually did the quests, spent most of my time cheesing the cool looking elf guards with arrows behind a book shelf to collect their armor and then stacking it neatly across the top of the room. All the different pieces laid out in groups of what they were; left gaunlets, right gauntlet, legs, etc.. then i remember having issues trying to sell the stuff because the vendors didn't have enough money (at least i think thats the reason)

I didn't discover the franchise until Oblivion, which I loved. I still remember the anticipation of Skyrim and firing that up for the first time when my pre-order arrived. Could not have imagined then that there would be a 15+ year wait (probably) before the next in the series came out. I will probably go back and try Morrowind while I wait, since I never experienced it the first time.

I remember having to do a resolution hack for several games ... How many years ago was that? Idk. I had bought a wide screen pretty early on, 1440x800? Maybe? It was such an odd resolution and no games supported it so I had to hack them all.

Sad because I bought the normal edition of the series a year or two ago without even playing it...

Morrowind is one of the best games in the series. I have put many hours into it over the years and i would recommend everyone give it a try. And plays similar to oblivion and skyrim.

However i liked Elder Scrolls II Daggerfall more. But it harder to recommend do to the older playing style. And its a lot more complex. But it's also worth considering especially if you play a lot of retro games.
