Trade in value is terrible this time around. They are offering $270 and $300 TV for the base version of 6 pro and 7 pro.

Yeah trade ins aren't that great, the good deals are over. Not bad if you aren't doing a trade in though with the code.

Compared to last year's Thanksgiving/Christmas season deal, trade in value sucks this time.

Last year pixel 9 was available at $0 if you trade in an iPhone 12. Why they don't just make that deal available again? specially now that pixel 9 has been dropped in value

Pixel phones are horrible value. They increased prices vs Pixel 8 variants and stopped giving good trade in values. $900 on sale for a Pixel 9 XL that instantly dropped in value to $400 the second you open the box.

1. The 9 and 9 Pro are considered worlds better than previous phones including the P8, hence the price bump. Still hundreds cheaper than iPhones

2. That's literally how ALL purchases work. The instant you open the box, you diminished its value severely. The standard "saying" used to be that you'd lose half value on anything you opened and tried to resell. That's life, bud.

On a separate note, dont bother trying to get Google to honor their $90 advertised discount on Pixel Buds Pro 2 when you order a Pixel Watch 3. These a-holes are fighting me every step of the way despite me having a clear offer in front of me. They claim it's OOS (the buds pro 2) yet they clearly are in stock. Then theyre making every excuse possible to make it seem like it's my fault theyre offering but not honoring $90 off.

I'm not sure where you are coming up with $400 for a 9 XL in mint condition. Cheapest on Swappa is $711. That's a little cheaper than options selling on Marketplace near me.

I've been checking this every few weeks and just before the discount, the trade in for my pixel 7 was $370 with no discounts. After the discount trade in value dropped to $200. This is more of a $30 off if you are trading in and there have been cheaper prices for no-trade-in for the vanilla p9.

Google's G4 chip is so behind compared to Elite. Let's see what G5 will be. for 799, I'd buy the S25. Trade in for S25 is better.

Pixel 9a is supposed to start shipping at end of March. 8a should drop in price then and we'll be able to compare features and get some first look feedback.

Good point, it might be worth waiting a bit to see what deals they have.

Considered by whom? There are very few differences between the 8 series and the 9 and most of them would likely be unnoticeable to most users.

The 9 Pro XL offers upgrades that are too modest to justify the price difference of around €500/$500 at the time of writing.

Sure, the 9 Pro XL has a brighter and a tad larger screen with thinner bezels; it offers a modest improvement in charging, battery life and speaker loudness, but that's not nearly enough to persuade a potential buyer to shed a few extra hundred bucks. Especially when you consider the long software support both devices are entitled to and the near-identical camera performance. In fact, the 8 Pro edges out its successor in this regard with better-looking video quality.

Off topic, but gotta wonder what people will be saying/doing once those AI features are put behind a paywall from Samsung. Not like anyone uses them much, though?
