Hmm, not sure, this has the wraith prism which looks much bigger and better than the normal wraith. I got the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ARGB for my son's 5700X and under full load it never goes over 50 C but the 5700X is a 65w compared to this 105w. If it were the normal wraith I'd say no way and to for sure get something else but I'm just not sure about the prism one and/or how good it is.

I own it. Don't get it unless you are desperate for a cpu AM4. Better cpu options aka 5700x3d.

5800x is notorious for heating issues. Google it. On full load it can hit 80c without a good cooling system. AMD Master app can optimize the cpu to reduce heat at the cost of reduced clockspeed

5800X or this 5800XT is notorious for heat?

5700X3D is quite a bit more than this though. You might find one from a good seller on AliExpress for $160-$200 but $265 on Amazon and $280 on Newegg right now, yikes!

Isn't 80c normal for a modern CPU? I believe maximum operating temp is 90c

Would this be a decent upgrade from a 3900x?

I wouldn't think you'd see a significant difference unless you never really utilize all the threads of the 3900x. In heavily threaded workloads the 3900x can still outperform the 5800xt.

No performance increase, downgrade if you need cores. Don't upgrade for no reason, upgrade it will drastically improve your user experience. Save your money.
