Great price for a decently reviewed tablet/keyboard/pen combo. Unfortunately, Lenovo is awesome at developing really compelling hardware for the price they put it out for and then abandoning those products with little-to-no updates. If you get this tablet, just understand that you may not get the longevity of updates you would from other brands like Samsung. Lenovo's forums are filled with customers that invested in their hardware and were essentially abandoned as the company just moved on to the next products. This is primarily true of Android devices as Google provides security and OS updates to brands that license Android but Lenovo has a track record of only picking bits and pieces of those updates to implement in their products which creates security risks. Does this mean something to everyone? No. Is it a slimy way to treat customers? IMO, absolutely.

That being said, I'm still a fan of many Lenovo products with the exception of their android devices. I have a Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook device I got "open-box: excellent" condition from Best Buy a year ago for about $260. It came like it had never even been touched and Chromebooks get direct updates for Chrome OS direct from Google so you don't have to worry nearly as much about Lenovo managing features like they do with their Android devices.

Like I said, not everyone cares about this but it is definitely worth noting so people don't go into this purchase with an expectation of extensive support or longevity of what support Lenovo does offer. I won't buy android devices from Lenovo until they can begin to invest back into their customers who buy android devices by way of properly supporting their devices after the sale is made.

Bought two of these in the recent Amazon sale, in order to replace our kids Fire Tablets and then cancel our Amazon Kids+ subscription, as we already have YouTube Family/cutting back on subscriptions. The P12 works great for Google Kids Space. It is plenty fast and the kids enjoy it. I have no idea if it's good for anything more demanding, because I don't use it, but I can say it's way zippier than the most recent fire tablet. Recommend for a solid fire tablet alternative.

Does anyone have feedback on the refresh rate? Its been a while since i have used something with 60hz but do people find it difficult to use when most items like phones are 90hz +?

8GB RAM on a Lenovo is like 16GB on a Mac. The OS is just more efficient.

That's how this works, right?
Pretty much. 8 gb is good

has anyone used this tablet for taking notes, especially writing on google docs or any notes program,
I want to write like we write on paper or notebook
Ya it works pretty well. Hand rejection is great. Picks up all of my writing accurately. It's great for that. Comes with an app for notes, whiteboard, etc if you need one as well.

Has anyone tried using this tablet for video editing? Specifically, is it able to handle HEVC/h.265 4k 60fps videos? I'm looking for a "cheap" tablet to do photo and video editing while I'm travelling. The Samsung A9+ could not handle it. Sure I can probably get a newer tablet with Snapdragon 8 g3 but that would be double this price. And if I'm paying that much, I might as well just get a Windows laptop that can run more commonly used free "professional" editing software.
Bottom line... the faster the guts the better it will be for video editing.
But to me this is not the best bang for the buck. You can get faster and better IMHO then this for less money.
POCO Pad 12.1'' 120Hz 2.5K Display Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 Octa core Processor 33W 10000mAh Battery Quad speakers. This for $240.

This is very similar to Galaxy Tab S9 FE+, minus the software updates.
I just bought the S9 FE... Is this better?

So is it worth returning the S9 FE to get this one instead?

I got this tab back in November 2023 when it was $250. Be aware that this is an older tablet, it's been around since mid-2023. I've never had any slow performance, it's a great value in that regard, but recently I've started having this problem with it: https://www.reddit.com/r/Lenovo/c...m_tab_p12/

In for one. Trading 4K for 3K screen and no native cabled or wireless screen sharing is OK at this price point, especially if you'll get use of of the keyboard/mouse case and stylus. I'll use this like a Chromebook 2-in-1 and pray I can keep it balanced on lap or use a lap pad (honestly cools laptops nearly as well without fan running, so already used to one)

Will mostly use for woodworking/ home DIY projects, some email/DocuSign for non-profit work, reading, and streaming. Should do all of that just fine and will be a nicer kid tablet by the time I upgrade. Feels like $300 all in is reasonable for anyone looking for a lightweight solution.

Any downside to using this like a Chromebook? Oversimplify those in my head to essentially an Android tablet equivalent - not sure if that's fair
