I almost pulled the trigger when the 12gb version was on sale.

After a lot of research I dont think its worth buying this phone without a warranty at a local store. The white knights might say otherwise but this phone is terribly unreliable and ridiculously fragile.

Good phone if you can get past the lack of HDMI, gotta go with Fold units for that.

But get carrier phone insurance. It usually is a raw deal. But folding phones do have higher failure rate. It has saved me on numerous folding phones over the last few years.

My family loves them, but they break more. Verizon has the best policy at $99 deductible capped for damage claims.
