Ditto. The workaround is.....go into payments and "transfer" balance of one gift card to another subway gift card.

Unfortunately it means that you have to actually HAVE another gift card, but at least this way you don't have little slacker gift cards left

Doesn't their app only allow gc if it has enough funds? Like if it's short even 1 penny it won't work?

No. It will use up whatever the GC balance is, then prompt you for an additional payment method for the remainder owed.
