consider Civ 7 and Assassins Creed Shadows worth 70 dollar each (at this moment), you are pretty much paying the processor and SSD for 200 dollarish. not a bad price at all.
i would be interested if i have a compatible mother board, too bad intel force you to upgrade the MB every 2 years so there is almost never a case where you can upgrade just the intel processor by itself.

I blew it on the 14. Stopped working after 3 months, so I went to the 12 and couldn't be happier.
You mean you had one that had degredation prior to the fixes? Or you bought a new chip post fix, and it still failed? Context means alot considering the timeliness of the issues.
I have a 14700k, upgraded from 5600. In retrospect I wish Id stuck with AMD. Functionally its fine, but it runs really hot, with inconsistent spikes, even with water cooling and the high wattage is pretty unreasonable. Im honestly thinking about selling it at a loss to get a 9800x3d. I did not run into the code bug, but I upgraded my bios early and never overclocked.
That seems like a great deal, but fair warning it is a literal space heater.

If you haven't already you might look into undervolting it.

undervolt and set power limit to ~160W, even on AMD you would have to enable Eco mode or PBO
People still taking the risk on these ? I just passed up 13 and 14 and just stick with the 12700kf for $164
I got one on Thanksgiving last year. Updated the Asus prime MoBo Bios, undervolted it (-0.050V) and I am using a Noctua air cooler. Sim racing and work. Very happy with it.

Air cooled with phantom spirit
I keep voltage under 1.3v at all times, hyperthreading off, and boosted p-cores to 5.6ghz all core, 5.7ghz four core and 5.8ghz two core.
55C during gaming and less than 100w power needed
70-80C during heavy multicore stress tests like y-cruncher (253w power limited, but that's enough to reach 5.6ghz all core ex hyperthreading)
