I'm not talking Civ-sepcific features, just in general every big title game released in the last ~15 years is not a complete finished product and requires a year or more of patches to get to what a final release should have been. The availability of constant patching over the internet has ruined the gaming industry allowing studios to release half-baked products. I never buy games at release anymore.
