PSA: ChatGPT is holding and storing away every single conversation you have, with your data attached to it. Yes, even if you're on a paid plan. Yes, even if you delete the chat. Yes, even "temporary chats."

This sounds fun but I would have to buy a new phone or dedicate a computer just so that my digital life will not be used for free to teach AI.

They're not harvesting data from your phone or computer. People are willingly giving them all their important information and then giving them additional feedback on the conversation AND handling them over $20/month

I guess you conveniently forgot to mention the part where a court order compels them to do so.

Your posts make me question if its many hallucinations are intentional... looking for corrections and further elaboration... kind of like Columbo

No go for me, was considering switching to Gemini but 50% would have kept me around.

Anyone else thinking this?:::

Before search engines had their own browsers they were stand alone programs you paid for. Everyone was competing to build a better search engine. There were many search engine aggregators, some free some paid for.

This proliferation of ai by all these companies reminds me of those days. Paid for tools to maybe make something but more really about data collection to refine the master model.

Has anyone noticed that search engine functionality and diversity seems to be decreasing? It's impossible to miss that ai overview on every reach now.

Who thinks that search engines will be abandoned (slow death ) in favor of paid ai search services??? I don't believe that the companies will come out and say that the search engines are being made less functional but it feels like it's happening.

Imagine if they could get a bulk of paid subscribers to a "new and better" ai search....

Let me know what you all think.

Fortunately it doesn't work that way. It can't surveil everything you do, regardless of what the fear mongers say.

It only has access to what you allow it to.
