It's time for the last years Max 40% off plan to renew. When I tried to cancel the yearly subscription, Max offered to keep the current Premium (No Ads, 4K option) for another year at 169.99.

I'm seeing the same $169.99 offer when I select cancel, I was hoping for one to re-up at the $139.99 that I paid last year. Oh well…

Same offer, plus $25 off via Amex. $134.99. That's $11.25 per month for the Premium Plan if paid up front.

Thanks for letting me know about this. I got the renewal message last month reminding they were going to charge me the higher annual price soon and cancelling gave me the cheaper price offer. Also adding the $25 cashback from AMEX and factoring in I split the membership on togetherprice it is ends up being free for me (actually $15 in the positive).

It's showing a 139 offer to renew currently (canceled mine months ago and the end date is 3/17). I'm going to move from Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle to the Disney/Hulu/Max bundle though since it's only like $3 more and I don't really care about 4K on Max anymore..

How much per year for the Disney/Hulu/Max bundle and is it ad free?
Is it offered on the Max website or another site?

Thanks. My Max is running out in about a week and I need to decide if I want to go for another year or not. I think the renew deal is just for MAX and I didn't see any bundle offer.

If you have already canceled auto renew you can turn it back on and off again to get this deal. You have to go through the cancel process again for it to show up.

I cancelled a few days ago. All I got was $8.49 a month for 6 months offer for standard so can't use Amex offer 😢

$169.99 is their standard price for an annual plan for Max w/o ads with a one-time payment. Everyone can get that price - new subscribers, those cancelling, students, etc.
Students is $5.99/month. W/ads.

The bundle is 29.99/mo +taxes/fees (I think about $3 or so) and is ad-free except for live stuff like sports etc. no yearly option tmk. Also for Max you don't get the 4k plan.

Well, here we are: lots of us who got in on Premium last year are up for renewal this week, and Max is holding the line at $170 which is a trivial discount compared to last year. What to do? I want/need 4K and especially HDR/DolbyVision.

I got the same offer emailed to me after cancelling: "For a limited time, get the Standard plan for just $8.49/month for 6 months (regularly $16.99/month). That's a 50% savings!" which is cheaper than the $139 full year price minus the AE rebate. I'll wait a while to see what else comes along as the offer is good to June 30

MAX's pricing for no-ads and 4k is what finally pushed me over the edge to just cancel and go back to alternative ways of getting shows. They pushed it too far. I wish people wouldn't reward them for it.

I would consider this but I'm on the black friday 2.99 with ads plan atm.

I don't think canceling this gives me the 4k annual offer.

I would sign up for the bundle version with disney/hulu in an instant if it had 4k/HDR which both disney and hulu have.

If they weren't dicks about everything I would probably have an annual 4k sub right now but it's just the principal of what they've done -- charged more and taken things away. fark em.

Image -- What a deal!

I paid it as there's a few things I want out of Max from March - June.

Next renewal? Hell nah. Max will have then lost the NBA and likely won't have another "Last of Us" season on deck. It'd take a huge discount to keep me again.

After all, the tackiest and greediest streamers (Netflix and Max) are the only ones who cheap out on delivering HDR and 4K to even middle tiers, let alone the lowest. I actually could have been getting Max free via DoorDash's DashPass all this time, so that's where I'll settle until Max gets with the times.
