Be very cautious of Roku.
Wonder who makes these Hisense..TCL etc?
Hisense is not a good TV brand they are on the up and up and have some major QC issues that often goes under the radar on this sub. I would not recommend them.
TCL gets a lot of hate because just like Hisense when they started out they had some serious QC issues. However, their higher end stuff is actually pretty good especially for the price. I think TCL is making the best TVs if your budget is more mid than it is low. Their lower end stuff (4 series) tends to last around the 3-5 year range in my experience.

I had just recommended this and came upon your comment. I can't fathom how this is still a thing. I'll go un-recommend now. Thanks for the heads up.
Why Roku took the option away to turn off interpolation is anyone's guess but from what I've read, they have strayed very far from being customer friendly and their firmware updates you HAVE to take or lose functionality. The Roku streaming devices went through this same firmware debacle in early 2024.

Picture is absolutely fantastic with a good source, especially 4K movies.
Upscaling is atrocious, worse than the Sharp 65" Roku it replaced. (Wanted local dimming for dark scene improvement in movies)
Lighted, rechargeable remote is a nice upgrade from the older AA Bluetooth.
I think the Roku interface is better than everything else. (Samsung, LG, Fire, Apple, Google/Chrome)

Apparently it happened with OS update 13 around June of last year. OS 14 has come out since and they have not fixed it. People in their forum are saying the only fix is selling buying a different TV lol

I would bite on the Pro if they didn't remove the option to turn off motion smoothing. Completely ruins the TV.
There are moments of greatness and I think it gets even brighter than my Samsung QN90a
BUT..if you are accustomed to Samsung/Sony picture processing the Hisense can let you down with the banding ,macro blocking and big color/ brightness shift if you are more than about 20-30 degrees off angle
if you are a patient shopper you can actually find some better overall sets
one example being the discontinued Sony X93L that Walmart has right now..$999 for a 65" and $1299 for a 75"
That falls about where the Hisense U8N and TCL QM851 are right now
