When I read the stories of the people who got arrested and spent days in jail, some of them missed kids graduation, one man was on the way to hospital for his wife delivery and another man was arrested and hand cuff in front of his son school.
Just boycott them.

Just wanted to point out that under heavy inflation (6-8%) since normal inflation in most economic circles is accepted at 2-3%, even after 5 years, it should not have doubled. That if, you do the math of 8% inflation/year, it will give you a factor of around 46% increase over a 5 year period (i.e. 1.08^5 = 1.46).

I now am totally anti hertz due to their loyalty program changes, all points gone if you don't rent or redeem in 2 years and points expire after 5 years.
All the other negative stuff is true too, the website sucks, after I ideally redeem my points before they are stolen I will go enterprise/national all the way.

i guess if you were renting more like 10 or 11 days it may work out.
