not worth it. the hinges are so suspect. i bought the new for 238 and always weary of the hinge snapping. one side of the hinge also easily just falls down to lengthened position making the 2 sides not even.
I have a couple of times. Once with a set of XM4's from this same seller. Had an issue with sound in one of the the headphones after owning for about 18 months (just under the two year period). Shipped them in to Allstate (their cost) and was given a credit in the same amount I paid for the refurbished headphones at the time (I want to say $200?). Used that the buy another set (again, same seller) that had since gone down to $150. Each experience I've had with them has been good and seamless.
I believe the best deal I've seen on these was like $150 a few months back (sold out in mins and I missed that deal). I've been waiting on that one but never saw below $200 again. So at $179 I decided to pull the trigger this time. Been really wanting to grab these.

By the manufacturer, usually refurbished products are open box items.

just a point on serendipity refurbished items and Sony support. I bought a refurbished sony earbud xm4 from them a couple a years ago and it turned to a lemon in 6 months. I contacted Sony and they said they dont honor warranty on items bought from them. Make sure the purchase is backed by some kind of warranty (idk I think ebay has allstate). I am sure they sell plenty of good condition items but just have in mind buy the warranty and dont wait till it ends if you have issues with your item

How do these compare to the Bose QuietComfort ULTRA? I have the Ultra and there are two things I don't like about them.. 1) that ANNOYING AF start-up noise that you can't turn off and 2) They feel REALLY tight on my ears, something I never experienced with the QC45..
and of course how does sound compare on these compared to QC Ultra?
if anyone who has used both can share their thoughts please!

Xm6s are rumored to come out later this year, possibly in April or May. The FTC filing has some people thinking they may have changed the hinges based on the pic of the detachable earpads and what the hinge looks like in that. But it remains to be seen.

I purchased the open box xm5 and this seller sent me what seems like it's been used for a month headphones. The headphones smelled like the previous owner's house, he was likely a smoker too it was gross. I asked for a refund and the seller was very responsive, but expect to wait 4 weeks to get your money back. 1 week to send back, 2 weeks for them to inspect, and 1 more week to reverse the credit back to your original payment.

I can 2nd this. Allstate was easy to deal with and refunded full amount for me as well, without any headaches.
