I'll wait until there's a Steam one available.
The pacing is a slow burn at the start. The movement can feel clunky. Some aspects of it are tedious and feel designed just to slow you down. But it's still the best game ever created, in my opinion. The world is incredibly well-realized, and there's just so much attention to detail.
While a great price and a great game, the $14.99 frontpage deal is for a Steam key. AFAIK, $14.99 remains the lowest price for a Steam key for this game, to the extent that matters for buyers.

I'm never clear as to what the different editions offer. I have the same problem with Far Cry, which I also don't pick up because I'm just not sure if the difference between base, pro, ultra whatever, are skins, missions, multiplayer junk, or what.

Curious why wait for a Steam one and not just get it on Epic? Unless for out of the box Steam Deck compatibility?

Not a fan of Epic--just try to keep everything on Steam, plus planning on switching to Linux anyway.

I've heard that you can only swap the DLSS files to the new DLSS 4 Transformer model with the Steam version, but I don't know if that's still the case. Can anyone confirm?

Epic runs fine if Linux. I just finished mass effect Andromeda on epic, using lutris and pop os.

I used to play it on ps4 with a grinder named Blueroze. At the time she was the richest on the game. She grinded to a million just hunting and fishing. At the time no one had a recorded video of them getting a million. Her gold was over a couple grand had she paid actual money like the GTA shark cards. Good times until I had to get serious about life and get a job😂😂. I stopped playing around 2020 so I don't know much about what was added after that. This game isn't as large as GTA, but it had its moments.

I started the game about a week ago and am experiencing these exact things. It hasn't picked up quite yet and I was wondering if this is how the whole game was.

Definitely not. I nearly put the game down a little way into it too. I'm glad I didn't. I consider this game a work of art and one of the best ones ever made. I will say if you get through chapter 2 and it's still just not fun for you, that's a good time to look for another game.

Get through the first chapter (all the snow stuff) and you'll be glad you did

The first RDR was my favorite game of all time. I bought a ps4 5 years ago just to play RDR 2. I started the game multiple times, I play 1 hr of the game but l quickly lose interest... Bought the pc version and the same happened. I now know the first hour by heart by playing it multiple times. Maybe I lost interest in video games.
