Good catch. Seems unlikely that subsequent installments will also be free, but maybe this serves as a hefty demo. Smart marketing on dev's part. If you love the first, you'll likely pay for the second.

Is there a way to add the game to your account on itch.io for later installation without actually downloading it? It seems like they used to offer that option (or maybe I'm thinking of indiegala)?

I signed in and it had that option. It was after the donate page when you click just take me to the download. a little misleading.
