I have the older gr version & this panel is brighter + white is actual white + a few other improvements I can't recall atm
4k at 27" is very sharp & and clearer, but 1440p for a 27 is better for gaming fps wise & ok for average use case. 4k is better for 32" and up imo. went from a 27" 4k ips to a 32" 4k oled back to 27" oled.
If reading/office work go for 4k, it will cost more typically. or if you like more clarity and or have a higher end GPU to support newer games

But I'm no expert
But I agree with u, no need 4k at all if u can't see the differences. Just like $20 vs $1000 speakers, why waste the money if can't hear the differences?
Things to consider:
Matte screen - For me it's a pro because if you have the light on a lot, it's a lot less glare and I have the LGC1 and glossy OLED just isn't for me.
Brightness: It's a bit less brighter than you'd expect but if you tweak some settings you can get it 'bright enough' i will say if you need really bright screens i would opt out on this.
Design: I didn't opt for this screen size due to that weird bezel on the bottom, just something that would bother me if it's the screen i had to use all the time, and that's why I got the 32 inch model. However that's just being nit picky.
GPU Reliant: I'm running a 4070 TI Super with it and I haven't had any problems at all with it running games. With that said i'm sure if you had 4060 or more lower tier GPUs it definitely would be an overkill for a monitor.
If yall have any questions, fire away!

The glare is sharper on glossy screens while if that same light is shining on a matte screen, it'll be a bigger blotch.
Any who, there's a bunch of videos on YT comparing the two.
I've been on an IPS matte monitor for ages and wanted to try a gloss monitor since my phone, tablet, and laptop were all gloss.. Pretty much knew what I was getting into.

Glossy: Mirror like reflections (super crystal clear reflections like you're looking into a dark mirror. Not good at all if you have the monitor in a room full of light and have a lot of items in the background of where you are sitting as it will reflect back in the screen. Great in dark environments.
Matte: Reflections are 'smoothed' out. (the reflection is like seeing picture blur in cameras when it's focused in the foreground you see the blurriness in the background. You can tell something is reflecting off the matte screen but really can't make the shape of what.)
BETTER for light environments. In dark environments you can't tell it's a matte screen.
All in all, both are great types of display coatings. It just depends on the user.

So yea, dark room no one would be able to tell if it's glossy or matte. Nothing wrong with matte, been using it on my IPS monitor for ages.
It replaced my Acer Predator 27" XB271HU IPS display and the immediate difference to me was the stunning color vibrance, contrast, and perfect blacks over the Predator IPS display. Also nice to have a 240Hz refresh rate over 144Hz from the Predator, but I'm not really pushing a 200+ framerate to take advantage of that (at least in NEWER games) without AMD Fluid Motion Frames or FSR3 frame generation tech. My concerns with OLED burn-in/image retention are largely gone. This display has a number of pixel cleaning/shifting/etc. features to mitigate burn-in, and as far as I can tell they're working as designed.
It comes with some significant cons though:
- First, the VRR flicker is extremely annoying. If you use VRR and don't have a stable frame rate, the flickering is quite noticeable and is distracting.
- Second, the text clarity is mediocre. This display uses an uncommon RWBG sub pixel layout, which results in color bleeding on the edges of text (i.e. "fringing). At this point IDK if I've gotten used to it, or if my Clear Type config resolved this issue for me. Either way, not really a big deal to me.
- Third is the annoying "power saving" feature that I can't disable despite going over the OSD menu several times. Basically the display will want to shut down when it detects that it's "not in use" to conserve energy, but it keeps prompting to do this while I'm in the middle of a game. So I get this on-screen warning that it will shut down in 5 minutes, then again in 1 minute, unless I press a button on the included remote. Frustrating. Seems like a bug, maybe there's a firmware patch for it. Will have to check on that later.
So do the benefits outweigh its cons? For me it does because I came from an older IPS display that lacked HDR, Freesync, and was only 144Hz. If you're coming from a more premium IPS display (e.g. 165+ Hz, Free/Gsync, HDR600 or higher), then skip this display. You'll probably want something with FEWER compromises, quirks, and more polish than this.
