This is pretty cool if you need to scan thousands of old analogue photos.

Let me save you and other SD'ers a ton of time.

These Epson/Canon printers work but they're crap. You can get a Fujitsu ScanSnap for the a similar price. There's a reason they are the gold standard where I work.

Also one other thing -- software compatibility for 3rd party apps like ExactScan pro and Enterprise are far better with ScanSnaps.

This seems to be a scanner, not a printer.

It used to be but Fujitsu is long gone. It has been bought by another that makes lower quality product than Brother, Cannon, or Epson.

I have the ScanSnap IX1400 and it's superior to my S510 that I ran into the ground.

I dont about the other models but the IX1400 is legit better than the equivalent models from Canon or Epson

I found some reviews that say that the Epson has better photo scanning capabilities than the ScanSnap. Do you find this to be false? Deciding between the ScanSnap i1600 and the FastFoto FF-680W.

It's no competition. The ScanSnap is hands down my favorite.

Though I will say I got the i1400 and didn't choose the i1600 since I use a Mac running 24/7 and use ExactScan Enterprise as my scan app. I didn't feel the need to have a screen on my scansnap body.
