Anytime they say "natural" I think it's probably bull and toxic. I don't want a "natural black coating" on kitchen knives. Non-stick pans are bad enough.

The vendor probably should not have used the word "coating" however you all seem to think this is some kind of paint or something layered atop the metal....which I would be very very very surprised if that is the case.

But I also doubt they are using lead based paint or asbestos in the process either so all this talk about hypothetical-theoretical-maybe-could-be-what-if problems are probably a complete waste of energy.
