The onkyo tx-nr7100 is the cheapest 9.2 channel receiver on the market with hdmi 2.1 and dirac live room correction. The normal price on a good sale is $550 (the previous lowest price ever was a single brief sale at $529), and it goes frontpage at $550 consistently.

Specs: https://assets.onkyo-av.com/spec-...3_llhk.pdf

As a reminder, the western version of the tx-nr7100 only has pre-outs for the subs, and the subs are not independent. If you want pre-outs, I'd recommend purchasing the integra drx 3.4 at $579: https://slickdeals.net/f/18078391-integra-drx-3-4-9-2-channel-8k-av-receiver-579-free-s-h
The drx 3.4 is essentially a clone of the tx-nr7100 with preouts and a longer warranty.
For this situation

Preouts would allow you to run a separate amp to power your system versus using the AVR's internal units
This would come into play if you had a harder to drive, than typical, speaker system or just wanted to expand the dynamics of what you have

At the end of the day, more options for not a lot of money
The DRX 3.4 is still $579 so no need to wait: https://www.adorama.com/indrx34.h...ailprice=t

The question for folks will be are the full pre-outs and extra 3 years of warranty worth the extra $63?

"Stream your favorite music: Use Works with Sonos 1, Chromecast built-in, AirPlay 2, and DTS Play-Fi; includes Spotify, Amazon Music, Pandora, TIDAL, Deezer, or TuneIn streaming services"

Can anyone elaborate on this? Does this means what's played on the receiver can be "broadcast" out to the Sonon speakers - either via Sonos or AirPlay 2 - or those can connect into the receiver and then what is already being played on the network can also be played via the receiver.

I believe only 3 inputs are full bandwidth HDMI 2.1. The newer, nearly identical RZ30 has it on all 6 inputs.

prettier look (nr7100) vs pre-outs and probably better built quality (drx 3.4), I choose prettier look 😂

I've love it if someone would give me a cliff notes version of why pre-outs do or don't matter much. Thanks!

Good point and make sure they are an authorized seller for Onkyo also.
How realistic are pre outs actually even used especially on a $579 AVR?
Can't tell you how people I've helped that paid extra pre outs for "just in case" & never used them!

Realistically, if you haven't needed them to this point(or asking), unlikely you'll need them now.
Decent external amps aren't cheap, adding a budget one is kinda a side grade move & often not worth the cost imo.

They are an authorized seller...I checked beforeI bought this past Monday. More details are in the latest Integra thread. For me the extra 3 years of warranty was a big plus -- just in case the unit has any HDMI issues down the road. That said, I have a twelve year old Onkyo (same company as Integra) that still has HDMI working.

I think that really depends what they are coming from. My old Sony STR-DA333ES is rated at 80Wrms x 5 with all channels driven. AVRs these days are only rated with 2 channels driven, so my old Sony might be stronger (than the Onkyo/Integra) -- I know it's considerably heavier at almost 31 pounds.

Yes sorry I meant authorized with this deal(Electronic Express).
Here is the comparison of the two.
