I've got a few of these for the HTPCs, both this version and the older (?) version and while they are mediocre keyboards and trackpads, they are ideal for HTPCs (where you are mostly just using it as a media player, but occasionally need to use it like a computer) and the alternative are hard to find, so I keep using them.
However, it would seem that if something hard hits the trackpad and dents it -- and the dent doesn't even seem to need to be visible, and it doesn't seem to have to hit it that hard -- then the trackpad can be stuck thinking somebody is pushing at that one spot, always, and so the trackpad part is not usable anymore and I don't know of a way to fix it. I've had this happen on three of these keyboards so far -- the trackpad just stops working, and on two of them I can see a small dent that I assume is the problem.
This wouldn't really happen on a keyboard that lives on a desk like a typical computer keyboard, but for one that's thrown around like the TV remote? It seems to happen a lot, at least in my household.
And since they don't seem to last and yet are kind of pricey, I've grabbed a few of them at the Goodwill Outlet (at $2/lb, so cheap, and I see a fair number of them there), and at least half of the ones I've grabbed have the same problem. (Though they probably do get treated pretty roughly there, and the problem may be why they were donated to Goodwill anyways.)

$20 is a fair price and it's very handy to have around even if you rarely use it.

(Xbox controller for actual gameplay obviously.)
